GCNI–LKCMed Joint Symposium on Neuroscience Reinforced Cross-Institutional Collaboration

The GCNI–LKCMed Joint Symposium on Neuroscience took place on 17 July 2025 at the Yasumoto International Academic Park, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), bringing together top neuroscience researchers from CUHK and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for a full day of sharing ideas and building partnerships.

Co-hosted by Professor Owen Ko and Professor Jacque Ip from the Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute (GCNI) of CUHK, and Professor Kah Leong Lim, Associate Vice President of NTU, the symposium featured 10 invited speakers — five from each institution — presented their latest research in key areas of neuroscience. These included neurodegeneration, vascular biology, neurogenetics, aging, and biomedical engineering.

The event created a lively space for researchers to exchange ideas, find common interests, and explore new directions for future projects. Engaging talks and thoughtful discussions showed the strong potential for more teamwork between the two institutions.

Closing remarks reaffirmed the shared commitment of CUHK and NTU to advancing neuroscience through strong research partnerships and ongoing knowledge exchange. The symposium was well attended by faculty, students, and external scholars, and served as a valuable opportunity for scientific engagement and networking.
